FABnyc was founded in 2001 as the non-profit leadership organization for the East 4th Street Cultural District, a historic and vibrant arts corridor in Manhattan between Second Avenue and Bowery. Now a neighborhood-wide coalition of arts and community groups, FABnyc strengthens the cultural vitality of the Lower East Side.
Lines from New York
Lines from New York (LFNY) is the collective endeavor of several creative minds that met at the non-profit print studio Works in Progress NYC based in the East Village. Inspired by the communal energy and ethos of the print studio, LFNY explores the influence New York City has had on each of its members. Issues such as the immigrant experience, urban landscape, fashion, and visual culture are themes explored in the first collection.
Emily Clark
In 1983 Emily Clark was one of the founders of Design East NYC, and is currently Executive Director and founding board member of Works in Progress NYC.
