Overview: This six-hour course is designed to offer students a thorough and hands-on introduction to the many facets of contemporary textile printing. Whether you are a seasoned artist/designer looking to expand your professional repertoire, or a beginner with little to no experience with production and design, all attendees will leave our class with a basic understanding of what it takes to produce industry-standard silk screened items in a variety of workspace environments. Because the class is taught in a commercial-grade shop, instruction and demos will focus on techniques commonly used in professional printing. Through these lessons, students will also learn the skills and equipment necessary to print small and well-executed projects in their own home or studio without access to commercial-grade equipment.
